Paul Wayne Hamilton

Paul Wayne Hamilton, 82 of Sheridan, Ark., finished his 18th hole of his course of life on September 5, 2022. Paul was born September 22, 1939 in Black Springs, Ark., to the late Marvin and Beatrice Hamilton. Paul served in the United States Army where he earned an Army Marksmanship pin for his sharp shooting abilities. He spent the majority of his military career stationed in Germany. After his military career Paul worked for 37 years in Pine Bluff, Ark., at Mid America Packaging. After his retirement Paul spent many of his days on the golf course and in the deer woods.


Paul was proceeded in death by his parents Marvin and Beatrice Hamilton, his first wife Joy Tillery Hamilton, and his stepdaughter Cynthia Kaelin. He is survived by his wife Barbara Hamilton of Sheridan; son Timothy Hamilton of Colorado; sister Wynemia Cobb (Bill) of Mount Ida; sister Faye Terry of Mount Ida; brother Dwight Hamilton (Patty) of Texas; Clara West (Jerry) of Norman; stepchildren Carolyn Graham of Dardanelle; Linda Phillips (Buddy) of Grapevine; Michael Hester (Donna) of East End; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he dearly loved. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.


Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2022 12pm to 1pm at Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida, AR, graveside service will be September 10, 2022 at 2pm at Gaston Cemetery in Black Springs, AR. With Bro Ralph Hamilton officiating. Pallbearers include Mark Phillips, Jerry Cobb, Tommy Breshears, Joey Barker, Buddy Phillips, Tyler Phillips, and Larry Heinrich. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornton Funeral Service in Mt. Ida. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com
