Donald Joe Smith

Donald Smith, 86, of Mount, AR, passed away November 25, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, AR. Donald was born on September 3, 1937, in Mount Ida, AR, to the late Ozelle Smith and Lena (Lenderman) Irby. His parents, wife Lois Lybrand Smith, son Gregory Smith, and half-brothers Bo Irby and Gary Smith preceded him in death.

Donald is survived by two children and their spouses, James (Beverly) Smith of Mount Ida and Donna (Dr. Perry) Majors of Danville, Kentucky. He has three grandchildren, Dr. Lawson (Emily) Smith, Allison Smith, and Jessica Majors; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Evie Smith; and other family and friends.

The visitation will be Monday, November 27, 2023, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home. The graveside service is Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Gaston Cemetery in Black Springs, AR.
