Donna Jean Foley

Donna Jean Foley, age 73, of Mount Ida, AR passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on September 26, 2024. Born on December 23, 1950, in Portland, Oregon, she was the daughter of Eugene and Maxine Swasey Kent. Donna married Freddie “Red” Foley on May 24, 1967, in Heavner, Oklahoma, and they shared 57 years wonderful years together. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many. 

Donna worked at the Munro Shoe Factory for several years until health issues necessitated her retirement. She cherished her time with her rescue dog, Charlie, and found joy in cooking at car races where her sons competed. Her interests included collecting NASCAR and Coca-Cola memorabilia, gardening, and previously running a greenhouse business. Donna also had a passion for keeping everyone informed about local weather conditions. 

She is survived by her husband, Freddie (Red) Foley, children Farron Ray (Ronda) Foley of Story, AR. Rebecca Ann (John) Murphy of Porter, TX and Devin Jay (Sarah) Foley of Mount Ida, AR, grandchildren Davey Foley, Seth Dunigan, Lauryn Ghourley, and Jordyn and Jayda Dorse, and great grandchildren Levi, Madisyn, Elena, Hazel, and Wesley. 

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Kent, father Eugene Swasey, and brother Bob Kent. She will be cremated under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating her life will be announced at a later date.
