Grace Virginia Ballentine

Grace Virginia “Sherrell” Ballentine, 79, of Pencil Bluff, AR passed away peacefully at home with her family at her bedside on October 7, 2024. She was born December 5, 1944, in Belleville, AR to Lacy Brown and Agnes Marie “Tubbs” Sherrell. Grace is preceded in death by both her parents, grandson Zack Klutts, and son in law Jim Klutts.  

If you knew Grace, you knew her love for Elvis Presley. She collected ALL things Elvis and enjoyed many trips to Graceland. She Also enjoyed her many vacations to Silver Dollar City with her children and grandchildren. For quite a few years, she worked part time at Mt Ida Floral Shop with Johnette. Grace also volunteered at MCNH Auxiliary Thrift Shop for over 40 years.  

Grace fought hard these last 10 months. From the beginning, she was positive and courageous. She was a grace believer and saved by the gospel of Christ. She Stood strong on her faith. Although we will miss her greatly, she is at peace and home now.  

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Ballentine, son Charles (Liz) Ballentine, daughter Tammy (Ben) Harrison all of Pencil Bluff, AR, grandchildren Luke Klutts stationed at Dyess AFB, Abilene, TX, Jessie (Josh) Starr of Board Camp, AR, John Coley (Fayth) Ballentine stationed at Ft. Lewis, Tacoma, Washington and Markie Blocker of Mount Ida, AR, great grandchildren Lily and Laney Klutts, Lane and Bo Starr, and Bella and Abby Ballentine, sister Mammie Vanderford of Mount Ida, AR, a niece Sheila Hickman of Mount Ida, AR, nephew Richard (Amber) Wheeler of Missouri, and a host of other family and friends.
