Lena Geral Dean White passed away April 28, 2024, in Mount Ida, AR. She was born December 25, 1929, in Mount Ida, AR to Oliver and Mae Stipe. She was married in 1948 to Everett Lee White. Preceding her in death are both her parents Oliver (1981) and Mae Stipe (1998), husband Everett White (1983), two brothers Carl Stipe (1998), Dale Stipe (2021), sister-in-law Betty Stipe (2001), brother-in-law Everett Oliver (2005) and a son in law Bob Pennington (2022).


Geral is survived by their 3 children, Patricia Adams (Ken), David White (Bridget) & Annette Pennington, she has 2 grandsons, Paul White (Magda) & John White (Amie); one great grandson John-Paul and three great granddaughters Lannah Grace, Elliott Joy & Calissa Faith, she has a sister Eula Faye Oliver, sister-in-law Mary Stipe and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends.


Geral was the clerk at the Washita Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Ida for many years. She

was also known for serving great meals and sharing her many special recipes. Family favorites

include calico beans, creamed corn, fried deer meat, homemade dill pickles, muscadine jelly,

chocolate torte, Mississippi Mud Cake, and chocolate chip cookies.


Her hobbies included raising vegetable gardens, crafting, and quilting. She enjoyed playing

Dominoes & Rummikub with her family. Geral loved crappie fishing and she caught lots, but

never ate a single bite of fish. Through the years, she was blessed with phone friends who

called and checked on each other daily.


In lieu of flowers, please take time to call and check on someone to brighten their day.


A heartfelt thanks to the Hospice Home Care team for making her last days as comfortable as

possible.


Honorary pall bearers: Paul White, John White; John-Paul White, Rick Oliver, Dugan Stipe, Ron

Stipe, and Brent Stipe.


A family graveside service will be held at the McKinney Cemetery with Brother Gary V. Smith,

officiating. Arrangements were made under and directed by Thornton Funeral Home Mount Ida, Arkansas.
