Loretta Sue Ledbetter of Oden, Arkansas passed away in Fort Smith, AR on February 25th, 2024. She was born in Black Springs, Arkansas to Roy and Bertha (Black) Young. She is preceeded in death by both of her parents, 3 sisters Joleda Warnick, Magdalene Diblee and Barbara Warnick. Sue lost a huge piece of her heart Oct. 30, 2019 when cancer took her son David, then another piece was lost on May 7, 2023, when the Lord called, Clois, her partner in life of 59 years home.
Sue is survived by her daughter Ralonda, son-in-law Jeff Blansett, daughter-in-law Lisha Ledbetter, 5 grandchildren Chris (KyLynn) Ledbetter, Amanda (Jared) Hearne, Shelby (Wesley) Owens, Tarren (Beth) Blansett, Jacy Blansett and her fiancé Kyzer Black, 10 great grandchildren Caleb Hearne, Trenton Hearne, Brylee Hearne, KaitLynn Ledbetter, Addisyn Ledbetter, EmaLynn Ledbetter, Brynlee Sue Ledbetter, Brayden Owens, Breckan Owens, and Tucker Blansett, sisters Dorlas Graves and Helen Robertson, brothers Lonnie Young and Ron Young, brother-in-law Shelton Ledbetter, sister-in-law Owetia Ledbetter. A host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Sue also left behind her beloved dog Blue and 2 cats Lunar and Muffie. Her grands were the light of her life. The morning, she passed away she said, “I’m so proud of my grands, they are all in church and make sure my great grands are also!” She was known by them as Grandma Suess and her mash taters. Sue spent 31 years devoting her time to the Senior Adult Center in Mt. Ida, AR. She became the Director in 2004 until she finally retired in 2021. She made so many lifelong friends and loved them all dearly.
Visitation will be Wednesday February 28th, 2024, 6:00- 8:00 pm at Thornton Funeral Home. Services will be held at Mount Olive Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Thursday February 29th, 2024, at 2:00 pm with Brother Arlie Frances and Brother Cub Black officiating. The Obituary will be read by a special nephew that she was very proud of, Jr. Ledbetter. Pallbearers will be all of her boys Chris Ledbetter, Jared Hearne, Caleb Hearne, Trenton Hearne, Wesley Owens, Tarren Blansett, and Kyzer Black.
