Mary L Laird

Mary L Laird, 80, of Mount Ida, passed away October 30, 2023, in Mount Ida, AR. Mary was born September 8, 1943, in Story, AR to the late James and Naomi Celcia (Aldridge) Breashears. She is preceded in death by both parents, husband Bruce Laird, sister Vanita Abernathy, and brother George Breashears.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Mary liked spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, and fishing.

Mary is survived by her son Jimmy Lee Laird and wife Zavie, grandchildren Ava and Avie Laird, sister Oweita Ledbetter, sister in law Jean Breashears and brother in law Alton Abernathy, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 1:00pm at Refuge Baptist Church in Story, AR with Bro. Tommy Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com.
