Nadean (Potter) Jones, a beloved member of the Mount Ida community, passed away peacefully at her home on October 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 30, 1949, and dedicated many years of her life to serving as secretary at Mount Ida Elementary School, where she was known and respected by students and staff alike.
Nadean's commitment to her work and her community was matched only by her devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Jones; her daughter, Tina (Jeff) Burrow; and her son, Scott (Mandy) Jones. Nadean treasured her role as a grandmother to her granddaughters, Peyton (Tate) Abernathy and Sidney Burrow, as well as her grandsons, Jamie Jones and Casey Jones. Her family was her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in their achievements and milestones.
She is also survived by her brother, Carney Potter, and her half-sister, Vinita Spears, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends who will miss her warmth, kindness, and spirit.
Nadean reunites in peace with her deceased family, including both of her parents, her first husband Gary Worley, her sisters Jearl Tarkinton, Jerry Whitworth, Doris Clemmons, and her brother James Potter. Each held a special place in her heart, and she often spoke of their love and the memories they shared.
