Nancy E. “Deda” Qualls, RN
Nancy “Deda” Qualls, 76 of Sims, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Murfreesboro Rehab & Nursing Center in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. Deda was born in Sims, Arkansas, August 30, 1945 to the late Zelmer & Anna (Tucker) Qualls. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Bernest Qualls, her brother & sister in law Leon & Jerline (Shaw) Qualls, great nephew Derick Sellier and a great great nephew Etlee Qualls.
Deda is survived by her two nieces, Susan James and Retha (Dan) Curtis of Sims, nephew Melvin (Pam) Qualls of Eunice, La, great nieces Tameria Nolen, Jenna Dougherty, great nephews Matthew Lawrence, Bubba James, Mike Sellier and Jason Qualls and 13 great-great nieces and nephews who all loved her very much.
Deda graduated from National Park Community College in Hot Springs, AR as a Registered Nurse and she loved her nursing career for 18 plus years. Her nursing passion was being a wound care nurse at Washington Regional in Fayetteville, AR. Prior to her nursing career she worked for 25 years at Mt. Ida Footwear.
She loved her dog, Katie Bear and was her trusted companion several years. One of Deda’s fondest memories was the birth her nieces and nephews and their children. She enjoyed watching them grow up and being a part of their lives. A very special thanks to the staff at the Murfreesboro Rehab and Nursing Center for all the loving care they gave her.
