Yvonne Lorie "Vern" Stover

Yvonne Lorie “Vern” Stover 62, of Mount Ida, Arkansas entered her heavenly home on Friday, August 2, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with COPD. She was born September 26, 1961, in Henderson, Nevada to the late Jesse and Virgina Wiley. Her parents, husband Harvey Stover, sister Shirley McAllister, and niece Holly Day, preceded her in death.  

After graduating from Mount Ida High School in 1980, Yvonne began working at the Mount Ida shoe factory where she met several people, she considered close friends. She worked there for over 30 years and told several stories about her time at the factory. Yvonne was a big rock and metal music fan, with Van Halen and Metallica being her two favorite bands. She was extremely talented in the craft department, crocheting and cross-stitching were her specialties. 

Yvonne was a beacon of light, warmth, and wisdom. She wanted to help those in need, often sacrificing her own needs for others. There was never a dull moment when she was around. She could light up a room with her smile and laughter. Her children will forever cherish Yvonne’s stories and comforting words. There are not enough words to describe how beautiful and genuine Yvonne was. Her life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, the lives she touched, and the love she shared.  

Yvonne is survived by her son Jacob Stover of Horatio, Arkansas, daughter Taylor (Dakota) Shirley of Amity, Arkansas, and her brother Harold Wiley of Las Vegas, Nevada. She leaves behind a community of people who loved and cherished her.  

Yvonne Lorie Stover will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.  

Any memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Yvonne. She requested that there be no funeral or memorial service and we chose to honor her wishes.
